微軟證實近期上市的Office 2013僅能對應授權安裝於單一台電腦，而無法像Office 2010可將授權移轉至另外一台電腦上使用，因此若是所安裝的電腦損毀、失竊等，或許將無法進行使用授權移轉。

根據ComputerWorld網站報導指出，微軟針對新版Office 2013再度調整使用者授權條款 (EULAs,end-user licensing agreements)，其中表明新版Office 2013將與所安裝的第一台電腦作深度連結，若這台電腦發生損毀、遺失等情況時，使用者將無法像過去Office 2010版可透過重新安裝將相關授權移轉至新電腦上使用。不過，使用者依然可在相同一台電腦上重新安裝Office 2013。

而就ComputerWorld網站向微軟求證此情形時，也獲得微軟官方證實，不過並未對相關內容作進一步回應。從另一方面來看，或許微軟會希望使用者轉為使用訂閱機制的Office 365。
